Firm Prospects was created to help legal professionals discover opportunities, research law firms and explore career moves within a highly specialized industry.
The challenge
Existing tools weren't built for the legal industry
Legal professionals lacked a dedicated platform for discovering opportunities and researching firms within their professional ecosystem.
The challenge was to design an MVP that combined:
- professional profiles
- career opportunities
- law firm discovery
- industry networking
while keeping the experience simple enough for first-time users.

One of the core workflows was helping users find relevant people and opportunities quickly.
The platform introduced filtering based on:
• location
• practice area
• specialty
• years of experience
allowing users to narrow large result sets to relevant connections and job opportunities.

The job board became one of the platform's key engagement features.
Users could browse opportunities and create personalized job alerts based on:

- practice area
- title
- specialty
- experience level
This allowed professionals to stay informed without actively monitoring listings.

The platform also served as a large professional database containing thousands of legal professionals and organizations.
Users could claim existing profiles and build a more complete professional presence within the platform.
Additional networking functionality surfaced relevant professional connections based on shared firms, education and geographic location.

Outcome
The MVP launched successfully on iOS and Android.
According to post-launch data:
- nearly 30,000 active users joined the platform before major marketing efforts began
- user testing feedback was highly positive
- the MVP established the foundation for future product growth
